PowerDVD registration

Hi all, I got PowerDVD 3 (though ASUS changed the name to ASUSDVD 2000, it's still PowerDVD) with my GF2 a long time ago. Now I wondered, can I use the registration key if I download PowerDVD 4 or will I have to buy the program?

Depends... but I think NO:

Usualy (that is most of the cases, not specific with PowerDVD) the key you buy is valid for every update, not for a new version:

a key for Prog 3.1 should work for 3.3 and 3.9 and even for 3.999, but not anymore for 4.*
