    Jittery playback on Celeron 500 - TNT2

Here are some specs to help

    Celeron 500
    Asus ME-99VM socket 370 SiS 620, 5595 southbridge
Asus V3800 Deluxe TNT2 PCI video card with 16mg ram
192 megs PC 100 system ram
Aureal Vortex 2 superquad digital soundcard
    Asus DVD - PowerDVD 3.0
    Windows XP Professional
    Sony 12x DVD drive

My problem is jittery DVD playback, very choppy. Is it that the celeron 500 can't decode fast enough? Is it problem with the TNT2 PCI card not being AGP or not having hardware compensation? I believe that XP has autodetected my ide bus mastering drivers, as it is at UDMA mode 2 in the device manager for the DVD drive, maybe i need better SIS ide bus drivers for xp?

Please any help or insight would be appreciated.

Is Hardware Acceleration enabled from within PowerDVD? I'm not sure if the TNT2 line has DVD decoding capabilities, but it's worth trying anyway.

thanks for the reply, the version of asus dvd is 2.5 powerdvd.
the option under video in stop mode in the configuration menu for hardware acceleration is grayed out. Maybe the tnt2 doesn't offer any ?
