i think this is a common problem, b/c my roomate is having it too and we're both pretty computer savy. here's the problem...
on the highest quality dvd rip .avi's, WMP will automatically search for the right audio codec, be unable to find it, and begin playing the movie (which this always seems to happen on the highest quality mpeg4s) with out any sound.
thie file properties lists the audio encoding as "unknown"...
so, any ideas? is there a codec we missed? are divx versions backward compatible? im running v 5.x (02, i think)..
any info would be great.
