Vertical line problem when playing DVD.

Hi all. I seem to have a vertical line problem when playing DVDs. I'm using PowerDVD. This line runs from the top to the bottom of the screen and is about 1/2 cm wide.

What I've done is enable hardware acceleration as have enabled dma. This didn't do anything.

I have a:
P4 1.2 GHz
256 DDR
NVidia Riva TNT2 Model 64 Pro
O/S: XP pro.
ASUS DVD E616 Drive.

The DVD plays okay except for the vertical line which stays there from beginning to the end of the movie. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get rid of the vertical line.

If this is happening on only one particular DVD, chances are the DVD is flawed (perhaps a scratch or a production error)...

Sorry, forgive me for giving you the impression that it was just a DVD that was giving me problems. It's actually any DVD that I play.
