powerdvd4 + XP: complete crash unless connected to the net?

I have recently upgraded to XP and power DVD 4.

I can load Power dvd ok but as soon as i click the play button the whole system crashes, including mouse movement and ctr+alt+del.

However this does not happen if i am connected to the net.

how strange.

also I asked before, but does anyone know how to change the colour of subtitles in powerdvd? they are a horrible, unreadable green colour at the mo.

i have all the usual: geforce mx, sb live, 320mb ram, xp pro etc and i have tried downloading new geforce drivers but it doesnt help.

ANYONE ANY IDEAS?

Try applying the patch recently released by Cyberlink.
