slight stuttering

i have been having probs with playing a mpeg 2 flims after being encoded with tmpgenc it seems to stutter very slightly could anyone advise me on the correct settings to use , its nothing to do with my pc as also happens when i rip to dvd and play on my standalone
i have been pulling my hair out for 2 weeks

If not already done, try changing the audio frequency from 48,000Hz to 44,100Hz...

I understand that you mean the video (not the audio) "stutters" - and still make the same suggestion...

arrr it works on power dvd but when i try to author it its not a dvd compatable mpeg2 file but if i change the sound settings back to 48000 it works but stutters
plz help
