please help! my drive died after flashin

help! my dvd-drive's not working.
I just flashed my artec 16*48 dvd-rom drive using firmware from wald.heim.at/sherwood/530742/dvd/artec
I cant open any dvds in windows now (cds read and run fine). I thought maybe this is because i need to reinstall my dvd-drive in windows, but when I try to under control panel, (the device manager remove button under system), the window just crashes.
under device manager, it says the drive is working fine (but obviously not)
please anyone, any help, any suggestions? have i had a bad flash? boo hoo
my pc is brand new - if I have had a bad flash, and I send my pc back under warrenty - will they be able to tell?

I suggest trying to flash the drive with an official firmware. You might be able to get it from artec or you might try the firmware page:

http://perso.club-internet.fr/farzeno/firmware/

If the drive still works as a CD-ROM I guess you can still flash another firmware version. Make sure you got the right firmware for your drive !
