How 2 Flash???

hello, i know this might sound like a dumbass question but, i intend to flash my Toshiba DVD/CDR drive, and i have the firmware update, but in the txt file with it, it says make a "Bootbale Disk" ??? what else has to go on the disk apart from the upate??? bearing in mind im running XP and theres no REAL DOS is there??!!

Any help on this ASAP would be great!

You can make a bootable floppy under XP. Insert a good quality floppy in your drive, open the XP "Format" dialogue and check the "Create an MS-DOS statup disk" box. Once written, I usually delete all the created files except MSDOS.SYS, IO.SYS and COMMAND.COM as these are the critical ones for a minimal boot disk.
