DVD Playback - Sound, No Video

    Hey,

I'm working on a laptop with winXP on it. The laptop was playing DVDs just fine, no problems up until recently. Now there is perfect sound, but no video. Stays at a blank screen. I've tried changing resolutions, refresh rates and sizes. No success.

I've downloaded the Nimo Codec, no success.
I uninstalled Nimo and installed Tsunami, no success.

I'm still getting no video, but sound.

As far as I know, there are no changes that have been made to the OS with exception to downloading the codecs. I have tried multiple DVDs, including some that had worked before, and they are not working.

    Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

These should have no beneficial impact on playing DVDs. I'd suggest you try reinstalling your software DVD player...

Well, I reinstalled the stock DVD software... nothing.

Reinstalled all the windows XP media components and upgraded the media player... nothing

for s*$ts and grins I was in the display properties again and I noticed the laptop was set to both the LCD and CRT... changed it to just LCD and it started working again... Guess the video card isn't beefy enough for both.
