Help me select a DVD-rom drive/or player

Hi Folks-

I'm new at this. I was going to get a DVD-rom drive for christmas. Problem is i want to be able to play DVD's from the US (region 1) as well as DVD's in the UK (region 2).

Ideally I would like a DVD-rom drive that could play both regions and output from my computer to TV. Therefore can anyone recommend the hardware and software I will need to:

#1 play DVD's from both regions

#2 output to PAL and/or NTSC.

Hi!

I´ve got a DVD that´s very old! -99. It´s the Creative PC-DVD Dxr2. It also comes with a mpeg 2 accelerator card with a TV out (You can change PAL/NTCS). In the begining you will only be able to change the region for 5 times.Then the DVD will be locked.
But if you turne to "the dark side of the force", you can flash the drive (you will no longer have a Creative DVD it will be named Mashita) and get 999999999 million region change from 0-6. When you want to change the region it will be done with a litle program called Remot Selector. I´ve got verson v1.41.
It´s old, it´s borring but it have been working for 3 years. Even thru Y2K
