Getting "no disk" error on standalone player

I've finally figured out how to use IFOedit. Now that I have a successful burn with Nero on my Pioneer A05 (DVD-R/W disk), I get a "no disk" error on my standalone DVD player. My Apex player's not even a year old, so it should be able to read the disk right?

I was able to play the copy on the burner using PowerDVD 4 but really want to use it on my TV.

Can anyone tell me why this might be occurring?

Make sure to check out this site to see what formats your dvd is able of playing.
Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

Thanks for the tip but I've already checked that same site's forum and information when I bought the standalone player. It supposed to support vcd, svcd, dvd-r, dvd-rw, etc...

      Any other ideas?

Your standalone player may not "like" the BRAND of DVD-R/W that you are using...

That's correct! I found that as soon as I decided to use DVD-R, it worked on my standalone right away!! Only problem is finding out why my player won't see DVD-R/W's...

          any suggestions?

Have you tried using another brand of DVD-R/W media as setarip suggested?

So far, it won't take the native Pioneer dvd-rw, or the Memorex dvd-rw's...haven't been able to try anything else...anyone know of any dvd-rw's that most compatible for playback on standalone's?

At times the "procedure" used to burn the discs may be an influencing factor. You may wish to read some posts at doom9.org and here that provide some detailed description on "succesful" dvd burning.

BTW are you able to view the burned DVD's on your PC?

yes the burned dvd's played perfectly fine on powerdvd, just not the standalone.
