    Smoother Playback with Radeon 9000Pro

    I have a Radeon 9000pro card and I am using it to play DVD's on my TV... But it doesn't seem to give me a smooth playback it aint to choppy but sometimes it stop for 1/6 of a second or so, and then hurry on and continues. it does this mayby 30 times in a 2 hour movie

    I used to have a Geforce 2 card and it was the same. can anyone help me get a smoother playback

    I'm haved Both WinDVD and PowerDVD but both gives the same result.

    Check that you have DMA enabled for your drives. In addition, enable Hardware Acceleration for DVD in the player software option.

        Try this:

        Open the Control Panel
        Select System Properties
        Click on the Performance tab
        Click on the File System radio button
        Click on the CD-ROM (Yes, CD-ROM) tab
        Set slider to "Large" and "Optimize access pattern" to "Quad speed or higher"
        Click on Apply and then on OK
        Exit the Control Panel
        (Cold) Reboot your system

        Let us know of your success ;>}

          First of all sorry for the late repley (christmas and all) but all that is on and it is the same.

          I'm looking for the same smoothness you get on a Standalone DVD player. But that might not be possible??? I am wondering if it could be my HD its only 5400RPM's???
