Audio synch prob after burning CD

I went through the whole process to make a DIVX copy of my DVD Vertical Limit.
All is OK!, the file (low bitrate) makes 688MB to fit nicely on a single CD and it plays good on the hard disk.
I then copied it on a CD and

the audio gets unsynchronized after a while!?!?
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks a lot in advance

You might be able to reduce/eliminate this problem by improving how your computer reads data off the CD.

    The following is for win98:
Right click on the 'my computer' icon on your desktop and select properties, select the preformance tab and click the 'filesystem' button, select the CD-Rom tab, and increase the supplemental cache to max, and select optimize for quadspeed or higher.

*edit* does this happen in all players ?, have u tried wmp6.4 ?.
You might have to copy the avi file back to hd for optimal playback quality.
