jerky dvd watching

im getting jerky playback on all video types dvd, divx, avi, mpg, wmv, this is a new problem that i wasnt having a couple of days ago and cant seem to think of what i did to make it happen. does anyone have a idea of how to fix it.

512mb ram
64mg video g4
ata100 120gb hd

What video player are you using? Try viewing your movies in either Tha Playa or BSPlayer.

Have you turned hardware acceleration either on or off recently?

i use nvdvd, powerdvd, windvd, windows media player, realone, they all skip. i have tried turn hardware acc on and off with no affect.
