    unlocking with smartripper

    Hi
I'm new here, so sorry for my ignorance...
I have a problem concerning unlocking the dvd with smartripper. I can unlock dvd's manually (start a dvd player and retry button) but not automatic anymore. Does anyone know why? He did it many times before I bought a new computer configuration I use the same dvd (a LG) as I did before to rip the files. The two configurations worked with XP...
    thanks...

I have had some trouble with SmartRipper, too, and it seems to be related to region issues. I use DVDIdlePro to bypass region codes on my laptop, but SmartRipper seems to have a problem with that. My laptop is set to region 2. When I put in a region 1 DVD, sometimes I get that "can't unlock" message, but even when I manually unlock the disc, there is a problem with the rip (large bright colored squares all over the place). So now I use DVD Decrypter, and when I play a region 1 DVD, it gives me a message saying it needs to switch to "brute force" mode, and then rips the DVD fine. I am no expert, and go with what works, but I would like to know what's behind these discrepancies.

Use DVD Dectrypter. I think It is easier and they both do basicly the same thing. Get files that take up 6 gigs
