Hi I've done a search on the forums and cant find anything to solve my problem, hope someone can help 
I have an ati radeon 9700pro, its a 'Powered By' product so it did not ship with an ATI dvd player so I used one from an older ATI Driver CD I have, it worked perfectly
I've recently had to format and reinstall everything on my computer and now the ATI DVD player does not work for all DVDs. For some it works just fine, others (the majority) I only get sound but no video, just a black screen, no matter which part of the dvd I play, the menu, features and the film itself. It worked perfectly before the format and cannot think what is causing the problem.
I have dx9 tried with 8.1 and catalyst 3.1 and 3.2 drivers. the ATI dvd player is 7.6, I have also tried installing ATIs multimedia centre 8.1 which also updates the dvd player to 8.1. I get an error with this version saying I have no video decoder installed.
Where can i find a decoder, how much does one cost?
Failing this, are there any DVD players you can recommend that have the 'Blended Window' feature that the ATI dvd players have where the movie will run at a set transparency and you can carry on working with the movie playing over your application. Any clicks on the player will not do anything, as if it wasn't there
