DVD Playback problem , help pls

i have a second machine that is used by other members of the family to watch movies on , i recently installed a DVD drive in it so that they could watch these as well.

I know that most DVD software requires a PII/350 and 32 mgs but this machine only has a PII/266 with 64mgs Ram and the movie is jerky and sort of skips , the picture is great and the audio is fine but the picture jerks and skips to catch up to the audio.

Is there a different software player that might work on this machine or am i screwed???

    1) The machine is probably inadequate

    2) "Is there a different software player that might work?"

    Different than what?
