    Installation problem

    Here is my problem. I have a dell that came with windows 98. It also came with a DVD player. It has a Toshba DVD-ROM-SD-M1202. It also came with CineMaster 98 1.5.00.1056/1.0.13.2487 software.
    I have recently upgraded my hard drive to an 80 Gig. I still have windows 98. However now when I try and install the CineMaster software it starts to install and then stops and gives me a message that reads;
    "You are not authorized to install this software." My question is WHY! I own it and there is no product code with the disc. Is there a way around this?

    Since the software came with your PC, why not contact Dell?

      I have, but the system is several years old and trying to solve a problem by email and the current techs they use can be difficult. I thought that if anyone else had had this problem they might be able to explain a fix much easier.

        The simplest solution (unfair though it may seem) might be to purchase WinDVD, or a similar software DVD player...
