Letter Box vs Full Screen

Just found The Green Berets and it's showing in letterbox. I can hit the zoom button once and it's darn near full screen. Is this the correct way to do it?

1) The "zoom button" on what? A softwrae DVD player? A standalone DVD player?

2) Does this have something to do with making your DVD player/DVD ROM/DVD burner region free? (Which is the topic of this sub-forum)

1, The Zoom button is on a stand alone DVD player


2, It IS a region free DVD player. Thats why I asked it in this forum.

Your standalone DVD player should have a facility/button labelled "Display" or something similar. Accessing this should allow you to select from 4:3 letterbox, 4:3 Pan and Scan, and 16:x9 widescreen format...
