No playback, cant rip..

I have a huge problem that is bothering me alot. Im using widows 2000 and an Asus E608 dvd-rom drive.

I cant play any commercial dvd's, (tried region 1 and 2). Not with hollywood+ dvd station or powerdvd xp. I could before atleast with power dvd, just installed hollywood+, not now.
The hollywood plus player just "starts" to play but the meter doesnt move. Powerdvd crashes..

I can read dvd+r data discs just fine and also I managed to somehow play a copied dvd+r movie.

Dvd decryptor says: Device authentication failed. Failed to get variant.

Dvd shrink 2.3 says CDvdCSS::ReadDiskKey failed.

Please someone help.

For anyone who has the same problem.
I fixed this by changing to another ide cable. Now the devices
dma mode is set to ultra dma as it was normal dma before. I guess
the other ide cable couldnt handle ultra dma and it is needed with
the drive. Or some other problem with the cable or mobo.
