    PowerDVD 5 plays slow

    Any one else found that the PowerDVD 5 upgrade plays very slow on their computer? Cyberlink recommmended I upfate my audio and video drivers but it still played quite slow *1 to 2 frames per second). I have a fast system and have tried disabling hardware assisted playbackk with no improved response.

      Try reinstalling PowerDVD and doing a system restart afterwards...

          hi all

          i had the same problem: really slow playback, exactly as OP describes: 1-2 fps.

          i was using PowerDVD v5.0 trial version, having previously uninstalled v4.0.

          version 4.0 worked perfectly on my:
          Asus A7V266-E
          AMD Athlon XP 1600+
          Pioneer DVD-A06S
          Elsa Gladiac 721 (nVidia GeForce3 Ti200)

          and yes, DMA is enabled on my DVD-ROM drive!

          both v4.0 and v5.0 were installed and running using defaults.
          the only other setting i changed was to enable h/w acceleration, of course. changing this had no effect on the problem with v5.0.

          the reinstallation/restart suggestion does nothing to improve things.

          anyone else have this problem and found a solution? i'd love to see what v5.0 brings, but it's looking pretty bad right now...
