    DVD player

    Greetings!I have an LG 16x DVD rom/cd rw installed in my computer.I payed for this drive to watch DVD's.Do I need to buy any of the software packages Ive read about or can I simply download a decoder?Was useing interactual,and (yuk)Varo DVD!Both are considered spyware?Also I running n-vidia g-force 4 mx 420 vid card.I just thought "hey I paid for the drive ,I should be able to use it!!!'

    there are some freeware player that support
    dvd playback... just do a google search to find one.....

    but most people use windvd, powerdvd or a software that comes
    with their drive package.

    the reason why???...
    a dvd rom drive does usually not contain mpeg 1/2 decoder hardware like a standalone DVD player......

        Virtually all purchased DVD drives come with playback software - usually WinDVD or PowerDVD. Didn't yours?

            Ive contacted LG (mnft) and apparently they have 2 types bulk and reg. w power play ?Apparently I bought the bulk version!
