Samsung SD612S + Win2KPro + WinDVD3 = only few DVD can play ??

Hi all
i'm using
Abit KT7A, Athlon 900, 256Mb SDRAM, Creative TNT2Ultra 32Mb, Samsung SD612S DVDROM, SbLive!Value and Windows2K Pro + WINDVD3.0.
i have problem in some of my movies such as Chicken Run, Pearl Harbour, Platoon, Proof of Live etc etc in my computer. But i can play those movies on my friend's computer, he is using almost the same system as i use. (Win2K, P3 800, WinDVD3.0)

i just bought the DVDROM ant the movies so i can see movies on my computer. but the annoying thing is i can only see about 6 from 10 DVD movies that i just bought.
some times on those mentioned DVD (chicken run etc etc)
i can only see two directories (Audio_TS, Video_TS)
but they were empty.
if i check the properties on the DVDROM it can says 4Gb-7Gb depending on the movies

i'm not sure which part is go wrong because in some movies i can play it very nicely. why i cannot play the other movie =(

please help me because i'm totally blind and new about this =(

Are these the commercial studio-released DVDs or, shall I say, "other versions"?

Also, from what part of the world were they purchased?

wow, sorry i forgot to tell you that i'm in Indonesia
did it possible the problem was because of the regional setting ?

about the DVD it was the copied one i mean not the original because it was too expensive here
i can buy 8 copied dvd instead of 1 original dvd

And that may be part of your problem - QUALITY.

As far as some of them playing on a friend's system, your DVD drive may be less tolerant than his.

hi all i just found out the problem
the problem is i'm using VIA Ultra DMA driver instead of using the Win2K IDE Controller driver.
after uninstalling the VIA driver everything is work fine

i hope this can help if someone elses having problem like i do



mm but something else is wrong again =(
every movie i play before i can finish it (approx about 1 hour after play, it always stucked) just like the DVD is in bad shape.

perhaps something is wrong is it about the firmware, software or memory requirement or what ?


any suggest ?
