DVD Backups and Denon 1600?

Does anyone here have any experience with backups playing on the Denon 1600? I have been playing my backups made with Toshiba 5002 on a couple of pioneer players and they play fine, but getting ready to jump into the HDTV experience and buying a Denon 1600 before they are gone. Just want to make sure backups will play though.
