    multi-tasking while ripping and copying?

    Hi -
I am brand new to this so please bear with me.
I use DVD Shrink (which is great) to remove any copy protection on my DVd's which I want to back-up and then InterVideo DVD Copy to burn it to my CD burner.
My question is while I am using DVD Shrink (which usually takes about 30-60 minutes) and then DVD copy (which can take several hours depending on the size of the DVD) , can I be doing other things on my PC while either of those programs are working? (i.e., making DVD labels, Wriring letter in MS Word, etc.). I don't want to hinder DVD Shrink and DVD Copy while they are ripping/burning - but if it doesn't cause any problems, it would be pretty helpful to be doing other things during the 3 or some hours those programs take.
    Thanks for your help

While burning, it's probably best not to do anything such as creating labels, downloading, writing to your hard drive, etc...

Thx for the info about burning. Does that include, though, the same when using DVD Shrink?

Presently DVD Shrink is a resource "hog" - approaching 100% of your PC's resources - but you can feel free to do anything on your computer (that you can accomplish with significantly reduced resources) while DVD Shrink is running...

THanks again for the helpful info - I hate to be a pest.. but I have a few more questions..(but only one for now <g>)

I have been using InterVideo DVD Copy to burn my discs after using DVD Shrink, so that it can fit on just 1 disc. I see there is also a product out called Pinnacle InstantCopy which is supposed to do the same thing (burn to just one disc).
Can anyone tell me the diffferences in these two packages and which is preferable?
          Thanks again in advance..
