    Problem playing DVD Discs

Recently i've upgraded my system from win 98 to win 2000
and after that the DVD drive (creative 8x )has stopped playing
dvd discs, though it is playing VCD, MP3 CD, Data CD and just not the DVD. It doesn't even recognize the DVD disc and
says 'please insert a disc into drive g:'

    Please help

    1) Have you reinstalled your DVD software?

    2) Have you tried (from within the Control Panel) to "install new hardware"?

Yes I've installed the DVD Software and have tried the hardware option as well.
The Device Manager window is also showing proper drives as well (Creative DVD Drive and Samsung CD RW)
and both the drives are working properly as well. The problem is DVD drive not playing just any DVD disc but any other kind of disc (Audio CD, MP3, Data CD), it is playing properly.

If you have the installation disc that came with your drive, it should have the necessary driver(s) on it...

Other than that, I'm out of suggestions...

Okay i thing to mention, I downloaded the driver update from creative support website and tried to install it. But Windows 2K enforces it's own driver to be used for the DVD Drive. (I tried in Device Manager window --> right click on Creative DVD Drive --> properties --> Driver --> Update Driver). I tried to specify the location of Creative Driver , but It forcibly takes only some w2k driver.
Any clue on this? Thanks anyway for ur replies so far

"I tried to specify the location of Creative Driver"

Try putting it on a floppy.
