somhow dont like to use windvd, powerdvd seems easier, better and faster response time.

quality difference of pic is very small............ for me atleast. yes windvd do looks sharper, but watching movie on my 17" from my bed..... well i can always goto tv room and watch on TV or projector
Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!

Not everyone has the same idea ,i just want to test them both,
and as it seems to me windvd takes less memory and is sharper.

          Windvd trial versus registered

Remember for those who are trying the trial Windvd Platinum from intervideo:

The trial only uses one video quality resolution setting.
The registered version adds all the other options such as the 'best quality' recording option.

I have just started testing out the registered version. First results were very very good off of a digital 8 hitachi camcord.
Naturally it looks much better on a television screen than the laptop screeen.

There is one audio track, but by using the free Audacity program, you can make a multi track audio track and import it into Windvd.

The prerecord adjustments are helpful. You can sharpen, hue, contrast, brightness and a couple others.

Its not adobe premier, but it only costs $40 and does a very good reliable job for transferring those old vhs, high 8 ... tapes over to dvd.

Hi, I was wondering if any of you WinDVD 5 Platinum users have been having any problems with the sound level. I find that i'm watching a movie or a music video and suddenly the sound level will drop down a few notches. It eventually goes back up...but then after a while it goes back down.

              I don't think it's a hardware problem. I'm running a AMD 1.4ghz computer with a Audigy 2 ZS

Anyone have any solutions to this problem?

              Thx
I have the same problem, I was thinking of starting a thread about it... That happened to me with a very old version of WinDVD (version 3 or something), but with WinDVD 4, it stopped. Both WinDVD 5 and 6 have the same problem on my system... The reason why I use WinDVD is that it has more volumen, better image quality and better performance with 29.970 fps NTSC DVDs...

Whilst playing a low bitrate movie Windvd took 13,800kb whilst PowerDvd took 21,321kb.

                    Anyone had similar results ?
