Connecting a DVD player to a PC monitor

    Hi,

I am trying to connect a standalone DVD player to my PC monitor so that I don't have to use a TV - I'm very limited for space and don't really have room for a TV.

My monitor is a Taxan Ergovision 750 TCO95 with 15 pin D-Type and 5 x BNC input connectors. The DVD player has a scart out and a bunch of other connectors:

    S-video output terminal
    Analog Audio/Video output terminal
    Digital Audio Output terminal
    Component Video out terminal

What would be the best kind of cable to use that would enable me to connect the DVD player to the monitor to watch DVDs on it? And any suggestions for UK retailers?

    I've found retailers selling:
    Scart - 5 x BNC
    Scart - 15 pin D-Type

Are there such things as 3 x RCA phono - 5 x BNC?

    Thanks for your help,
    Rich

    As the DVD-player's
    Component Video out
is giving the very best signals,
    (because it has 3 signals: R, G, B
    - S-Video has 2 signals : Chrominance, Luminance
and "Analog video" has 1 signal : video)

    - you must use that as your DVD-players output.

Then, since an RGB-monitor is made to be able to receive
exactly the same 3 signals, there should be no problems at all...

    Edited afterwards

..or maybe I'm just talkin' BS here
    - according to this

    - the so-called "RGB" output from a SCART is not RGB at all,
    but rather YCC -
    that is, 3 signals:
    1. Y = Luminocity
    2. C = Chromacity : Blue minus Luminocity
    3. C = Chromacity : Red minus Luminocity

    I'm not sure.
