    DVD's skipping on playback.....

I used to be able to burn DVD's without any problems until recently. The last several that I have burned, skip and evenutally freeze during playback. They play fine on the computer so I assume the problem is some where durring the ripping process.

I use DVD Decrypter, DVD2One and Nero 5.5.10.

I use TDK -R's and Optodisc -RW's. The -R's play fine until the last few chapters then begins to skip and evenutally freeze. The -RW's start skipping almost immediately on playback and then freeze. I've erased and re-burn the same dvd 4 times with no luck!

Any ideas why I am all of a sudden having this problem? Is there a better program then Nero I should use?

    Thanks for all your help!

BTW, I have tried cleaning the dvd's, burning at a slow rate and closing out all applications before burning with no luck.

in what mode do you burn your dvds with nero???

have you tried DVDshrink as an alternative to DVD2one??

(if you want to give a try visit www.dvdshrink.info)

do the files play fine also after ripping with dvd decrypter
if you play them from harddisk???

The DVD's play GREAT on the....

harddisk but not in the standalone dvd player.

My one player won't recongize the dvd at all and my other player si the one where it will play the first half of the movie then start skipping and eventually freeze up.

Sorry since I am relatively new at this I am not sure what you mean by mode in Nero.

Is Nero the best dvd burning software to use? What would you recommend using?

ther are two procedures in nero that you could use.....
first is the DVD videomode and the dvdcreation mode....

second is the UDF/ iso mode..... for the udf/iso mode you have to have a Valid dvd file stucture to burn to DVD.... so do the following....Create a folder named VIDEO_TS (note that you HAVE to use upper case)

create a folder named AUDIO_TS ( also upper case)

drag ALL the files dvd2 one has created for you into the
VIDEO_TS folder... leave the AUDIO_TS folder empty....

depending on version and plugins DVD2ONE may have created this folders by itself.....if not do so....

Burn those TWO folders to DVD R using the UDF/ISO mode in NERO......

did you give the DVDshrink a try??? it is free and excellent software
I strongly recommend that you visit that link I included earlier
it may save you some troubles!!
