Wrong region on PC - will it play on standalone?

I backed up, onto my hard drive, one of my DVDs using DVDShrink. I know I specified that it be Region Free.

Before burning it onto a DVD+R I thought I'd better make sure it looks good when played from the hard drive.

However, using PowerDVD that came with my burner, the screen comes up saying ...

This player is incompatible with the the region marking of this disc.

The original DVD works fine in both my stand alone DVD player and PowerDVD. Since I ripped from the original disc, will the copy I make work fine in the DVD player as well ... even though it won't play in PowerDVD?

I don't want to burn it to disc until I know as I don't want to make a coaster.

I had the same issue but when I played the backup copy on my stand-alone, it worked fine.
It just doesn't play on my computer using Power DVD, MP 10 or Roxio's player.
