Still skipping.....

I was burning to what I thought were maxell's (I bought them off Ebay and there is no print on them to prove one way or the other) and was having a terrible time with skipping and the movie freezing up. I decided to buy a different brand of dvd's to see if that would fix the problem. I settled on Sony dvd-r's. Playback was 10 times better but there were still several "glitches" during playback. The movie was "watchable" unlike when they were burned on the "maxell" ones but it did skip every so often for a sec or 2. Any ideas why I am still not able to get a perfect playback?

You might try running a DVD/CD cleaning disc on your burner. Maxell makes one that retails for approximately $10US...
