    Help with playing DVDs

I have a fairly old and cheap DVD drive. When I tried playing a new DVD the drive wouldn't recognise it. The DVD was DVD9 whereas the others which i normally play are DVD5 and work fine. Is it possible that my drive won't read DVD9s???

It's possible, look at the manufactures website
to see what formats your DVD drive supports

      Blaze,

Also, see if there is a firmware update for the drive, a software update from the dvd player software (such as windvd, powerdvd, etc..) and also try the windows update site for better systems operation(s) by downloading available software updates from microsoft for your o.s. (98, XP, etc.), it's free.
