VHS sound line

I used pinacle's studio 8 to convert my VHS home movie to DVD . all went well except i got the VHS sound track distortion at the bottom of the DVD copyI used a JVC vcr through my sony trv 25 mini dvd camcorder.I used the SVHS out from the VCR to the camera , the fire wire to the PC. I think I need a cropping option, but none of the codecs available support it. I am using an ATI all in wonder 9800pro card. I even tried to go SVHS directly threw the card.I am recording in avi mode. Disk size not an issue.Bottom line What software will allow you to crop out the sound line? The tv display allows it, but I can't get rid of it in the capture mode. Thanks Harry
