    DVD+RW copy works super on stand-alone, DVD+R won't play on stand-alone

I’ve burned a DVD+RW backup copy of a movie that works super on my stand-alone DVD player and then tried the same procedure for a DVD+R. The DVD+R works on my computer’s DVD player but not on my stand-alone DVD player. Does anybody have a solution?

The media for both is Memorex DVD+RW, DVD+R. I used shrink 3.0 and then Nero 5.5 and I also have AnyDVD 3.2 installed.

Stick with whatever playsback on your standalone player...

Thanks Setarip Why are Stand-alone DVD players so picky about what they will play and what they won’t play?

P.S. The procedure I’ve used, listed above, results in a superb quality DVD when playing on stand-alones with all of the features that came with my original.

I have the same issue. +RW plays fine in my sony c650d. Both -R and +R don't. I've had a -R play the first clip and then fail with C13 code, meaning the disk is dirty. I see many sites stating this player is compatible with both -R and +R. Am I doing something wrong buring if the +RW plays fine. I'm not doing anything different when burning the -R's and +R's and they play on other peoples dvd players. I'm going to crack open the sony and clean the head next. I have to do this with our PS2 on ocassion. Though the PS2 won't play any format. Any thoughts? I'm using a Memorex X-1 dual format buner. Tried Fuji and Memorex -R and +R.

        Thanks,
        Brian
