Can't burn dvd-r on my pc

hey I got a problem. hope someone can help me . I have an btc dvd burn 1004IM and have no problems with dvd+ media. but my pc freze when I try verbatim dvd-r . have tried to take my btc burn. to another pc and there was no problems with verbatim dvd-r so what could be the problem with my pc????

ibm 800mhz 386ram the newest bios update using nero 6302 , got all update for win xp pro and still it freze with dvd-r what can I do??????
used the same media on booth pc. ?
Does dvd-r burn need more cpu then dvd+r ?

all kinds of dvd+r works great but all kinds of dvd-r frezes on my pc and all the media I have tried are suported of btc.

found the problem

weel it seems that the problem was my brand new hdd from ibm.
I switch to another hdd and I could burn dvd-r media as well but thx for all the help
