    I need a decoder!

Recently, I had Windows XP installed on my computer. This replaced Windows ME that came installed when I purchased my laptop. Unfortunately, upgrading to Windows XP removed the DVD decoder that was included in the original software that came on my computer. I am now in need of a decoder -- preferably region-free -- so that I may watch DVDs.

Does anyone have any suggestions about software that might work with my computer, operating system, and DVD drive?

FYI I have an HP Pavilion N5150 computer with Windows XP (obviously) and a Mat****a SR-8175. (From what I understand, the DVD drive may be a stumbling block to going region-free.)

    Thanks!

There should be a method whereby you could retrieve the original dvd player software which came with the NE system.

Why pay for same thing twice.

If you have the cd you may re-install it if not consider contacting your vendor.
