I used Dvd Decrypter and it displayed an error message that read "Media Region Code is mismatched to logical unit region!
The slower Brute Force VOBDec/DeCSSplus cracking methods will be used instead of I/O Key Exchange" but when i start decrypting it displays another error message that says I/O error, and that Media Region Code is mismatched to logical unit region.....
    still wont work.........
can you help me with this?
    i apreciate it
    thanks

There is a free download called : dvd43 and there is a "layer" also which will have to be installed called : patin couffin. It is posted somewhere in the region free threads, though I forget which, it does have a link for you to go there with. I will try to find thread and post in later post.

What the dvd43 does is "trick" your dvd drive into thinking the dvd movie is same region as drive or something or another, anyhow it works for ripping other region dvd's and doesn't (supposedly) hurt your dvd drive.

Both dvd43 and the patin couffin layer are free downloads.

I downloaded the DVD43 (for free) and the patin couffin layer, installed them both, then i inserted the dvd on the drive and the program DVD43 started working, the light on the side of the drive was flashing and the program icon on the toolbar dispalyed a message that read "trying cc code" or something like that, well anyway after about 15 minutes of the light falshing the program just stopped and anytime i tried to play the dvd the program just started cracking again but never actually did the job.......
        so it didnt work...........
i used the last change available on the dvd so i could back up the movie............
        thanks anyway

          mariobros,

          You are welcome, But...........

We haven't given up on trying to help you, so "hang in there" awhile and we will try to find the solution and help you and others.

"....used the last change available...." you only get so many region changes before the drive is locked at last change. We never suggested you change your dvd drive setting. We suggested you use a software which would "trick" your drive into playing any of the different regions dvd's, which is better than changing drive settings.

Most people never change that setting unless they physically move to another dvd region area. So, let's try to solve the problem as you can still use that drive to rip every regions dvd's.

Still there really is no big problem, all you have to do is to get the "all regions" dvd software to working. This is not impossible to do as there are 1,000's of persons whom have done so.

Unless you get the every region software to working the dvd drive is worthless except for ripping the last region you selected. From your last post it seems you have some software problems which is causing a problem with or is the problem with the WinDVD dvd player software (missing codec(s) or something).

If it not too much of a problem, you could do a fresh re-install of Windows and WINDDVD, etc. as sometimes it is easier to do a re-install than to find every missing file, codec, etc.(if you could do so). Then WINDVD might work and the dvd43 might work and your dvd drive would play any of the various regions' dvd's.

So, if you have any important files, make back-ups and the re-install windows.

Also, do post the hardware spec.'s of your computer, so we will have more info. to find solution. Include O.S. (98, XP, etc.), processor speed in Mhz or Ghz, amount of Ram mb size, size and speed of hdd's, devices and their brands and models (such as dvdrw Pioneer 106D4X, Generic dvdrom16X, etc.) whether dvd writer internal or external, type of Motherboard and chipset, should be enough and also which BIOS version, if you know it.

The more of these problems we solve with the post results, the easier for viewers to solve their problem, so you would also be helping others.

So, post your computers spec.'s before you re-install windows if you want to fix that drive and WINDVD. Re-install only takes les to ~ 2 hours on most computers.
