    If you're using Win2000 or XP have you tried a system roll-back? I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope that'll cure it but it shouldn't hurt.

    Have you tried removing labels?
    This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!

      I just burned one today and haven't put a label on it yet. I am going to try it out tonight sometime. I can't just scan through because that doesn't always show the skips since sometimes they start in the middle of a chapter.

      What software and media do you use?

          I'm also concerned about your use of labels. They cause a number of problems:

          1. They make the disc thicker, causing them to jam in some players.
          2. They alter the reflectivity of the disc's surface, and some lasers can't read them properly.
          3. They add extra weight to the disc, hindering some players from spinning up correctly.
