    LG DVD5253 Playback Problem

    Hi,

Wonder if anyone out can help i have been backing up DVDs with DVD Shrin 3.1.5 and Nero 5.5, i can play my backups on my stand alone JVC dvd players but when i tried to playback on my LG DVD5253 i get a message saying "Disk Error".

I have hack this player so that it can play all regions (region free) also i have played a backup on the player using the same media DVD-r although i don't know what was used to burn this disk.

Can anyone out there give me any clues to way my backups won't play any suggestions received with open hands!

      Hi decrptit,

I have tried to playback numerous backups of movies all the files have the extensions .IFO, .BUP, and .VOB. I know it can't be the media as i have a disk which contains three movies (The Hulk, Bionicle, and Finding Nemo) and this plays fine.

I not sure how that backup was create although it uses something called multidvd45 (Can't find anythingon the web about this) also on this disk in the VIDEO_TS there is a file with the extension .lay not sure what it does but this is the only difference between my backups and this disk.

I used DVD Shrink 3.1.5 to rip and to encode, and then burned the dvd's with nero 5.5.

It may be some kind of incompatibility sice your other dvd player has read your dvd.

I been thinking along those lines myself, the only things that annoying is i can play this one disk (same type media) but not the ones i do.

I have also tried a Ridata + RW the same results.

I also check for compatability of my DVD player at www.dvdrhelp.com and the reviews all say it should play this type of media fine - which brings me to believe it must be something to do with the software i'm using.

I will try some different media although must say i'm not that hopeful - thanks for all the advise.
