    Making my player region free

I have a Sony Vaio notebook docking station with a DVD player in it - type Matshitaujda 710. I am unclear whether this means I have a software DVD or hardware DVD. This model does not appear in any of the downloads that I can see.
Can anyone tell me whether I can unlock it please and if so, how?
    Thank you in advance

The difference between software and hardware DVD,
is the way the DVD is decoded.

Either its a program with a mpeg-2 decoder, for example PowerDVD or WinDVD ::software
    -or-
a PCI card that decodes the DVD :: hardware

in your case you wouldn't have hardware decoding.

Thank you EvoSx. Does this make it easier to hack and if so, any ideas on how to do it?
      Many thanks
