Joining 2 Avi Files

Hi, i ve resently been trying to join 2 avi video files , with various tools , such as Easy Video joiner and Filemerger tool from doom9
but i seem to be unsuccessfull. When the file is joined , it shows is the right size as if it were 2 files joined , but when played in a media player it is only the first CD/part of the 2 files..... can anyone give me some guidence please.

I think there can be a problem if the avi's are of different aspect ratios or bitrate?
Joining them as chapters in a DVD authoring application may be your answer.

Load the first AVI into VirtualDubMod and then select Append Segment from the File menu. This will tell you if the two clips are compatible to be joined. If so, just run it. If not, you may have to adjust the frame rate or aspect ratio, which can be done in VDM.

i did as you said megamachine , but at 5% into the process the size of the output file was over 7GB! Is this right? lol

Try it again, but in the Video menu, select Direct Stream Copy.
