what have you did to remove your firware.
                    What procedure have you followed.

                    SONY DVD-ROM DDU1612 (16X/48X) ((((DYS1, DYS3))))
                    (Known firmware : DYS1)
You can use LtnRPC to reset or disable the Region Counter. Click Disable and your drive will be region free!
Also, a Windows RPC-1 utility (version2) is available. This utility can turn ON/OFF the RPC mode. When the RPC is turned OFF, the drive will became a RPC-1 drive.

Have you used dys1 or dys3
have you used LtnRPC or Win RPC-1.

Tell me step by step what have you done.

Ok (But you still haven't flashed your firmware)
You might need to do that in the future ,for now it will be fine
but don't be surprised if dvd is not played.

"blocking the region will just stop the counter from leeting you choose from 1-9 for 5times.
Which region are you in now.

DVD43 is a freeware program that can remove DVD region coding on the fly (does not require messing with the drive firmware which can lead to VERY unpleasant results).

                            Get it here

Make sure you get the pattin-couffin drivers, which can be downloaded from the same page!!!
