    help!

I've got a problem under Windows 2000, a game plays with some "horizontal lines", which are more noticeable in high motion scenes, the same happens with some DivX files I've played... This hasn't happened before and doesn't happen under Windows 98 SE. I reinstalled DirectX 8.1 and my video card's drivers, and everything is the same. If you know what might be causing this, please let me know, thank you.

My system: P4 1.5 Ghz, 256 mb RAM, Sound Blaster Live! value, GeForce2 MX card.

These lines (I don't know how to describe them exactly) are those you see when the game or whatever is running slow... in a system that can't handle it too well. I know this is not the case because it worked just fine before and because under Windows 98 it still works just fine.

Are these files playing from your hard drive or from a CD (or DVD) drive?

the game is playing from my DVD-ROM drive, the avi files from my hard disk, but as I said, a couple of days ago everything was just fine, and if I boot with my other hard disk (this one has win98se), everything is OK.

Thanks, but the problem has been solved... my brother had been tweaking some Direct3D settings, after restoring them everything is normal again...

ha, ha! well, it's actually our machine! but I had forgotten he had told me about it. It was to see if there could be better performance in a game (not that it was bad), it actually reduced loading times between levels a lot, but the quality loss was too much, besides it affected the whole system (obviously)!
