Memorex DVD-MAXX 1648 AJ

Hello,

I've been using my Memorex DVD-MAXX 1648 AJ for 3½ years now. But not until recently, I only viewed PAL Reg 2 movies. Now I need to make it region free. The problem is that I don't have a floppy drive installed.

Is there a way of upgrading the firmware without th use of a 20 year old teqnique, or spoof the drive as region free or something similar?

This is a LiteOn-manufactured drive so you can use a Windows utility to make it region-free. See here:
