dvd shrink vs. dvd xcopy

hi there!
can anybody tell me why?
i used to use dvd xcopy, but i cut not see my backup'
in my dvd stand alone player.since i use dvd shrink and dvd region free, there is no problem anymore.
any ideas what the difference is?

Probably because DVD X Copy sucks and DVD Shrink rules supreme!!

Seriously though (not to negate the truth of the last statement) some more information (about your burner/media/etc.) would be required to come to any type of conclusion.

Since you posted this in the Region-Free section, are you assuming this to be a region coding problem? DVD Shrink removes the region coding by default, and I believe X Copy leaves it unmodified.

Decrypt your dvd first and stick to shrink.

do i realy need dvd region free?i use this one together with
dvd shrink.i think since i use dvd region free,i can play my backup's on my philips stand alone player.what do you think?

Normally shrink works with decrypted dvds (no regions etc)
Therfore your dvds are most probably decrypted and will play well on your pc.
