    Problems after cracking

    hi,

I cracked my Toshiba 1802 so it is now region free. Thats nice but I still have some problems:

There is AnyDVD on my computer running... when i try to play a DVD with Powerdvd it works, when i try to rip it an errormessage appears. But: with DVD decrypter you can rip it as ISO and this works.
My question is: is this normal/correct? does anyone have similar problems?

I even tried to start the DVD in PowerDVD and then start to rip but without success.

My second question is: While AnyDVD was disabled PowerDVD asked me to change the Regional code to 2. I thougt the drive is cracked so nothing can happen. I pressed ok. Did i change somthing in hardware or can i do what i want without thinking about it?

If you flashed your drive well you don't have to worry about regions. The region settings in players like windvd and powerdvd are there so that a user can quickly set or change manually the region of his drive.Changing it won't effect your drive unless its still in a region.

Decrypting issues have nothing to do with regions ,you may have a region 2 drive but you will still be able to decrypt your source.

What error message did you get ?

Thank you for you help !!

Smart Ripper for example says: "Some files are still locked. Try to unlock with a Player."

I tried to start the DVD in PowerDVD ... pause it and then rip it but it didn't work.

When the drive wasn't flashed it was working.

Maybe the reason is, that the DVD has a copy protection or anything like that. I didnt try to rip the DVD, when the drive wasnt flashed and at the moment i have no other DVD here

What are to trying to do exactly ?

If you are trying to rip and can't get hold of dvd decrypter use vstrip or smart ripper.
