    ASUS DRW-0804p - DeRegion?????

Yeah well.. i won't hit TAB then SPACE too early again...

I have recently bought an ASUS DRW-0804p

Lovely reliable bit of Kit. Only problem is that NOWHERE in any forum has anyone de-regioned one before.

Can anyone help me with the entire procedure?
I have de-regioned BenQ, Pioneer and LG and each have been different however... each one had info available on the web on HOW to do it.

I need some help with this please...

    Regards
    djc

Seems to be a re-badged Pioneer DVR-107D -- see here:

So, the Pioneer patch should work -- obtainable here:

But probably best to post a query on the Firmware Page forum (attached to the first link given above) to confirm this. The author of the patch >Nil is an admin/mod there.

I ran the .exe within Windows and a box appeared displaying that it was doing it's thing.... Then after 30 seconds it confirmed it had completed it's task.
It used to be set to Region 4.
I have DVD region Killer running at the moment because I see within my Drive properties that it's changed since my firmware upgrade to Region 1.

Can I assume this is ok because it's still playing and Ripping my Region 4 DVD's?

hi..I'm having the EXACT same problem with my ASUS DRW-0804p drive...how was this fixed?? I have tried using the 1.13, 1.15 AND 1.19 firmwares from forum.firmware-flash.com (the latter is weird coz it comes up with question marks on the installation buttons)..and it seems to patch the drive ok, says its all patched ok etc. but when I check it with Region Killer, it says its WARNING! This Drive is NOT Region Free...HELP ME!!! PLEEEEAAASE!!!!

Use the software avalible in the region-free thread to verify your current region.

I used Drive Info and it says I am currently Region2...4 changes left, 4 changes left, Not Permanent (it has recently changed from Region4, 3 changes, 5 changes, Not Permanent...???? Does this mean it's fixed??)...how do I find out if I'm RCP1 or 2 though???

All those ASUS firmware versions you've tried are "official" versions (= RPC2 = region-protected). Like I said in my post of 9/6/04, this is a re-badged Pioneer drive so you need to flash patched Pioneer firmware.
