Play "DVD Data Disk" in DVD player

Hi,

I want to know how compatible the following format is:

I burn a DVD as a normal data disk with my mpeg 2 files copied onto it. These files have a resolution of 352x576 and are PAL.

The disk works in my DVD player by allowing me to select the file I want to play and then simply plays the mpeg file. It works as it would with mp3's but with mpeg files.

How compatible is this "format" with other DVD players?

Not very - ESPECIALLY not with older (2 years or so) players...
