DVD Shrink file splitting???

I just have a quick question. When ripping a dvd with either DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter, what is the purpose of file splitting? I want to watch the movie from my hard drive, but I dont want to change this setting if it will mess something up. Please help.

shouldn't make any differece for playback

there are a few uses for this

max filesize - to reduce the number of vob's to a minimum (so that software that only processes one file at a time can take it easier). The maximum filesize depends on the file system.

every chapter: if you only want to decode/encode one chapter, like one song from a concert movie.

every vob: there's no difference from the original

every cell: i guess that's only for multi angle sequences.
