DVD writer advice please

I have loads of family home movies on video which I want to put onto DVD. I'm in England and my relatives are in the US. I need to buy a DVD writer that will record in Region 0 or region free.

Is there a good DVD writer that will do this?

You don't need a dvd writer to do that just decrypt your dvd and will hopefuly become region 0. If you want to backup your dvds further on just use dvd shrink, assuming that you will be using 4.7gb discs.
